A Tale of Adventure and Friendship.
Brian's summer is ruined. His father's construction work is forcing the family to spend the summer at the New Jersey shore. Normally, a vacation at the Jersey shore would be a good thing, but not now, not for a whole summer. All his friends are at home, they had made big plans, and it was going to be an awesome summer. Not anymore. Jenny Mason is the same age as Brian and a local on Long Beach Island. Their paths cross several times during his first week on the island; a skateboarding mishap, a daring ocean rescue, a startling discovery, and a near brush with death, spark an uncertain friendship. From this point their summer takes off. A search for an eighteenth century pirate treasure finds them risking their lives to solve the mystery behind a strangely written key. Brian and Jenny's adventures take place against the back drop of sun-filled days on Long Beach Island; surfing, building friendships, an unusual 4th of July celebration, and hanging out at the beach. The Lost and Found Summer is a story of youth and discovery played out on one of our many barrier islands. A surprise ending foretells the possibility of future exploits for the pair.
