The year is 2500 C.E. and King Trajan rules the Earth Empire that stretches from Mercury to the tenth planet in the Keiper Belt. Admiral Chance Jackson, or Tun, is his best friend and counsel after saving his life after an assassination attempt twenty years ago. Tun is the governor of Xylanthia, the fabled home of ancient Atlantis, in the Sirius Star System. Afraid of burnout from his favorite warrior and scholar, Trajan orders him to take a vacation. The vacation is derailed by the followers of a longtime enemy and pirate, Admiral John Blackstone, who is planning a revenge. King Trajan mounts a desperate rescue mission, but the universe is a needle in a haystack. Can they survive this and get to Tun? Can Tun and his crew stay alive long enough on a world full of Earth animals genetically modified by the Atlanteans and pursued without mercy by Admiral John Blackstone?
