This book was written for 9 years old to 99. The entire series is ongoing through 6 books. Book 2 introduces the characters that will continue throughout the series. Tori Flatly, an eleven year old, receives a magical wand; her best friend, Gina, also eleven; Elizabeth, sixty years old and Gina's grandmother, who was contacted by the fairies, knowing they would need human intervention; and a good witch, Madame LaRue. After discovering the wand's magic, Tori shares it with Gina. The girls use it to make Christmas presents for the poor children in town. When the wand is stolen, Gina confides in her grandmother and asks if the fairies could help get it back. In turn, the fairies send Elizabeth to Madame LaRue for her assistance. They learn about the bad fairy who was attracted to the wand's magical ripples, and was causing a lot of trouble. This is the beginning for the "team." Together, with the fairies help, they complete the Christmas 'gift giving mission' in a unique way.
