One hottest summer day in Oriente province, Cuba, October 20th, 1895, a man named General Valeriano Weyler y Nicolou, who also was called "The Butcher," appeared with many people on horseback as he pushed all Cuban people into a concentrated camp surrounded with fences and among them was a 7-year-old boy named Miguelito and his mother. Danger and challenge were for him when he began to explore the Spanish underground to escape and being able to bring water and food for them. The boy made through but he lost himself in the savannah. As a consequence with his Abuelito's trick of stones and sun's reading movements he found himself in a Mambí camp that was belong to Chief Maceo. He explained him what happened and by dawn a kindly Mambí officer and the help of the boy they bring an end to Boca Ratón's nightmares This is a beautiful-told story of the later days in Cuba colony, set against the flamboyant era of General Valeriano Weyler y Nicolou's reign in Cuba.
