.A dual story line begins with a mysterious black Medallion rumored to have belonged to some of the most powerful men in history surfacing in Miami. Winston Bartholomew obtains the jewel and plans to use its mystical powers for more of his search for treasure starting with the missing Amber Room. Possession of the medallion affords its owners the ability to see into the future and use it to alter history as well as communicate with the past. Determined to track down their old nemesis, Presidential Agents Drew Wells and Bo Boggs take up the hunt and hop from Florida to Berlin to Gdansk, and on to Kaliningrad. The chase will hold you spell-bound and breathless until you reach the conclusion. Emerging during the pursuit is a figure of evil proportions who confronts and confounds Bartholomew. The powerful figure causes Bartholomew to question his own motives.Meanwhile in Kansas City, an alternate story line involves Lieutenant Luke Arnold tracking down an elusive serial killer. The murders are so horrible the media dubs the killer 'The K C Ripper'. Arnold is stymied at every turn and struggles to gain traction. The case goes from bad to worse for Arnold as the killer turns on the media and the police force. This attitude brings on chaos and fear to the city and its inhabitants. Finally Arnold is required to call for help from the Feds. Drew returns home to find himself involved in another baffling mystery chasing the elusive Kansas City 'Ripper.'
