Dash Hammond, U.S. Army retired, returns from an extended trip to meet his new neighbor, Annie Dewitt, who is housesitting next door. Before 24 hours pass, Dash finds himself in the hospital unable to remember what happened. Annie, posing as his ex-wife, visits him only to discover his doctor, Mae Summers, is actually an ex-wife and none too pleased to meet the interloper. Since a body has turned up in his storage shed, Dash enlists the aid of Annie to set things straight. Double-time is necessary for the neighbors to solve the quandary. Along the way they discover more than friendship.
