After making only one recording as a leader between 1960-73, vibraphonist cut three albums for during 1975-77, launching a bit of a comeback. This LP, his second release, is an excellent effort. The veteran vibraphonist plays seven veteran standards, plus his own ( ) with pianist , bassist , drummer and (on four of the seven numbers) on soprano. These small-group performances (which some would call "mainstream") are quite enjoyable, but because the label is obsolete, the LP became difficult to find.
