Elizabeth von Armin (1866 - 1941) was born in Australia and grew up in England. After marrying a German count and moving to his estate she began writing children's books. In this sequel to Elizabeth and Her German Garden Elizabeth discusses the summer she spent in near solitude enjoying her garden. She did occasionally have to contend with her husband, the "Man of Wrath," and her children. Elizabeth Arnim portrays her garden is beautiful detail. The reader is able to envision the many hues of the green plants and almost smell the fragrance of the flowers. The floral descriptions alone make this an enjoyable book for an afternoon spent reading.
