INTRODUCTION I wish to warn the reader of a dangerous substance called water. Some people think it is valuable for drinking, washing and swimming in on hot days, but I have to tell you that if you get several pints of water in your lungs you are going to die. Water can be dangerous and hazardous to human life. Is the above statement ludicrous? If so, it is not more ludicrous than saying that carbon dioxide is a pollutant. For carbon dioxide along with water is a crucially important basic substance, essential for the life and health of plants, higher animals and humans. True, if you are unfortunate enough to be trapped in an enclosed space and the oxygen in the air is depleted you may die, but fewer people die this way than die by drowning. So why vilify carbon dioxide and not water? I have been surprised and disappointed to see the climate change dogma become politically correct over the past twenty five years or so. In particular, I have greatly regretted seeing generations of children being taught the lie that carbon dioxide is a pollutant. These facts have left me no choice but to tell the story as it really is.
