A compilation of hits from one of the top singers in the Greek music industry. The sound is vaguely
Europop
, but with definite calls to tradition, recent and distant. The lyrical content of the album is primarily love songs, though there are bits of the Greek underworld traditions (she dips into rebetika now and then) and the occasional drinking song. The overall summation of the album is that it is quite similar in kind to much of the Greek music available in America. It does, perhaps, differ in degree, however.
Glykeria
is a fine singer making use of some of the best composers over the years, and this album showcases her abilities foremost. ~ Adam Greenberg
