Tala, a timid young woman is pulled out of her small, safe and comfortable life and thrown into an unknown land that will brutally test her senses in every way possible. She has to force herself to go far beyond her belief in her abilities, in order to survive. The story mirrors the author's life, drastically changed at a very young age. She witnessed her country, suddenly faced with an oppressing revolution, and was forced to flee to the other side of the world, and navigate a new life, where people and cultures were foreign and frightening to her. 3- review A An insanely creative story with lots of action and heart. I literally couldn't put it down till I finished it.
Lexie Duncan 4- review B The pace is fast and you are pulled straight in from the start. You feel right alongside Tala while she crosses from one world to the next trying to navigate the new terrain and all the hurdles that come with it.
