After shattering the French armies in a lightning blitzkrieg campaign, the Germans turn their attention on Gibraltar as part of their new Mediterranean or strategic policy, a concept based on overrunning Egypt, then moving east and south, capturing the Persian Gulf area, as well as all East Africa in an alliance with France.
