This volume explores the insight modern theosophy can offer into social activism and the struggle for greater social justice.
It is part of a series of writings, collected under the banner ‘Modern Theosophy’, re-presenting important texts drawn from the history of the theosophical movement together with texts from contemporary authors and innovative thinkers.
Dr. Barbara B. Hebert is the President of the Theosophical Society in America. William Quan Judge was an Irish-American mystic and esotericist and one of the original founders, with Madame Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott, of the Theosophical Society. Annie Besant was the second International President of the Theosophical Society. She was a major figure in the fields of women’s equality and the rights of workers.
The Theosophical Society was founded in 1875 to explore the interconnectedness of all life, the universal wisdoms held in ancient religions and myths, and the potential latent in human beings.
