But this hypothefis is liable to more objec tionsthan one: it is an error in geography to make yam/am north of Babylon the reverfe beingf'tru'eiif It does not appear to have been the defign of the king of Babylon, at any time, to fix his throne at yern/a/em; nay, when he led his armies againft her, it was rather with a View to divef'r her of power, to raze her foun dations, and to lay her glory in the dull, than to make her the houfe of his kingdom, or the place his throne fhould be eftablifhed.
