This book is three short stories about inheritance. The first one, a man inherits a large house from a great aunt who he didn't know, when he goes to see the house all is not what it seems. The second, two men in their 60's climb a mountain taking one of the men's 12 year old grandson with them, to kill a beast from mythology. Twenty years later both men have passed on and it is up to the lad to tell the world what happened. The third, a man inherits a house from his grandfather but when he goes to look at the property he finds his grandfather, who he has just buried, waiting for him with a challenge he must complete if he wants to keep his wife.
