The year is 2131. Although many have tried, no one has been able to manipulate or travel through time. In fact, most scientists have concluded that any effort to do so would be disastrous, and it is now considered an illegal pursuit. Sophie Nuberg is both a biochemist and an astrophysicist who likes to think about the concept of time. Her employer, Gassee Research, also has an interest in manipulating time and has asked Sophie to look into it. One day, Sophie discovers the existence of the Time Particle and that puts her and the human race in jeopardy. She knows that if the company she works for gets their hands on what she has discovered, they will try to use it to manipulate time to their advantage. Uh oh. Sophie makes a run for it and gets a lot of unexpected help along the way. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who want to know what she's found, and they will do anything they have to do to get it.
