When not working as a night shift guard in a typical American suburb, mother-dominated Jack Crawford spends time at home in his room. His ho-hum life abruptly changes one day when he meets a lovely woman named Kate while riding the bus. Jack finds Kate intoxicating and does not realize until after she is gone that his gun is missing. This leaves Jack unsure as to whether he has lost it or whether she took it from him. His comical search for the missing firearm leads him into the surprisingly dark side of his peaceful hometown.
