TOP-NOTCH COMICS was first published by MLJ in December of 1939. Like so many of the great MLJ
titles, TOP-NOTCH COMICS began as an action and adventure anthology series, utilizing the talents
of some of the Golden Age's best artists. There are superhero thrills with the WIZARD- artwork by
Edd Ashe; BOB PHANTOM highlighted by the art of Irv Novick and KARDAK the MAGICIAN with art
by Chuck Winter. There is science fiction action featuring the time traveling SCOTT RAND,
presenting Jack Binder art. Charles Biro provides the artwork for the crime fighting SWIFT OF THE
SECRET SERVICE. WINGS JOHNSON, an American transport pilot who enlists in the Royal Air Force
when England declares war on Germany, has stunning artwork by Irv Novick. Mort Meskin does the
art chores for the stories of adventurer DICK STORM.
There is so much amazing talent in this series it is truly TOP-NOTCH.
THIS BOOK IS AVAILABLE IN BOTH HARDCOVER AND PAPERBACK EDITIONS
AS WELL AS IN FULL COLOR AND BLACK & WHITE.
