Touchstone of Resilience is the first in my book series Touchstones for Impact. This book is about the legacy created by my husband's grandfather's refusal to become a victim to the Ku Klux Klan's ferocity in the 1920s. His unwavering will and resiliency to not break while having to bend to the storms from the Klan saved his family legacy and made it possible for generations of successful blacks, like the man my husband is today. The lessons taught to each generation of letting education guide your destiny is the road map to being a life student, compassionate friend, accomplished professional and caring citizen of the world, while weathering their own life's storms. The essays, written by family, friends, and colleagues bear out how my husband now embodies those lessons and has engendered his own resiliency in becoming a Touchstone for people all over the world. The book series always highlights people who are capable of taking life's lemons and making lemonade and demonstrating how their situations, actions and life lessons can be used as a blueprint for others. Linda Eatmon-Jones is a native of North Carolina with over 35 years of experience and expertise in all aspects of non-profit management and for-profit leadership. She has a proven track record in executive leadership, strategic planning, group facilitation, non-profit management with four DC metro area nonprofits and worked at the executive level in a Fortune 500 company. She travels extensively and it has become an impetus to a passion about writing books about turning "lemons into lemonade". We share extraordinary acts done by ordinary people everyday.
