The said institutions mounted new productions of all 26 of Verdi's operas and Verdi's requiem. This collection features all of the said works plus 10 minute summary introductions to each of the operas that explain their respective stories, and the biographical documentary Verdi's Backyard. The operas are toplined by a who's who of opera stars incluidng Nino Machaidze, Fiorenza Cedolins and Norma Fantini, and are conducted by heavyweights such as Yuri Temirkanov and Nicola Luisotti.
