A sus diez años, Diana, una niña amante del skate, toma la decisión más importante de su vida: no volverá a pararse en dos pies y sólo se moverá con ayuda de una silla de ruedas; está cansada de ser muy alta y no poder disfrutar de los privilegios de los que gozan “los chiquitos”. La decisión provoca una revolución. Su mamá quiere castigarla, mientras que su padre, como buen psicólogo, prefiere usar métodos más modernos y le propone una apuesta aparentemente sencilla a la niña: si logra pasar una semana entera en la silla, no sólo podrá permanecer ahí, también obtendrá el perro que tanto quiere.
