Addison Adams and his wife of 15 years, Rose, are Tallahassee Florida middle school teachers in a small town called Hatchling.
The teacher, movie buff, and daily routine addict Addison is the ideal "big brother" when it comes to his students and will do anything to make his History classes memorable for his beloved students. He loves to teach History and he loves to reflect on the odd movie now and again. But when his top student Kara Vincent — daughter to the town's only psychiatrist, Dr. Vincent — comes to him with concerns about his wife Rose, he will soon wish he knew how to deal with the present.
The first few years of marriage were heaven, till Rose had suffered a miscarriage twice. In time Rose had grown distant, her actions at home had turned baffling, and then ultimately violent towards Addison on multiple occasions leaving the dedicated husband in complete confusion.
After Rose snaps and runs away, he confides in Dr. Vincent to help him help his wife. Upon treating Addison's wife the doctor tells him that it would be impossible to take care of Rose alone; he had diagnosed her with early stages of dementia and recommended that Addison place her in his clinical residency to be looked after by him and his staff. Addison agreed. But during a park field trip with the other residential patients, Rose disappears putting Addison in further worrying stress.
As 5 years of searching go from lukewarm to cold, things back at home begin to reveal Rose's suspicious actions leading up to her disappearance. The dark revelation of deceit, infidelity, sex, and hate will spin the once happy-go-lucky teacher into a whole new look into his personal life.
