The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is investing $18.9 million to improve resilience to climate change impacts in the most chronically food-insecure areas in Ethiopia. Through support to the Government of Ethiopia's Productive Safety Net Program, USAID aims to reduce vulnerability to more frequent and intense natural disasters, improve livelihoods, and develop community assets. Activities include soil and water conservation, afforestation, water harvesting and small scale irrigation development, and improved early warning systems and disaster risk management.
