Zephyr wasn't always known as the Lord of Darkness. There was once a time when his wings were silken and pristine, wide and magnificent. But that was before the curse.
Zephyr is an angel, a harbinger of light and goodness, before his own brother curses him, exiling him from the heavens and sending him crashing down to earth. Envious of his brother gaining God's favor, Lucifer Morningstar turned Zephyr into a beast of darkness, sentencing him to an immortal life on earth as a vampire. He is doomed to an isolated existence as a hated beast.
But Morningstar's punishment takes on a new form, as Zephyr turns his curse into his strength. Destined to be a monster of darkness who prowled the earth, hungering for human blood, Zephyr decides to do something his brother hadn't anticipated. The Lord of the Night creates a family—others like him, who would inherit his powers. Lord Zephyr begins creating an army that will one day face Lucifer and defeat him in battle.
As the First Vampire, Zephyr rules over his Vampire Order. His children work hard to expand their numbers as the Order becomes a global phenomenon: Warriors of the Night and Knights of Darkness. Zephyr passes on his powers from child to child, bonding with the vampires and ensuring they never know the isolation and defeat Lucifer sentenced him to.
As time passes, The Order thrives. It is an intricate network designed to ensure no internal power struggles. The number of immortal vampires grows steadily.
