The topic of this issue is 'diversity as an opportunity". Researchers from all faculties at the University of Siegen have dedicated themselves to this topic by setting it against the background of their research. The possible perspectives on 'diversity' and the discussions concerning the processes of differentiation are taken from numerous different disciplines - philosophy, historical science, educational science, computer science, social sciences, natural sciences, political science, jurisprudence, linguistics, media studies, engineering, fine arts and musicology, economics etc. - and outlined within the context of myriad hypotheses: the discourse on the topic of diversity focuses substantively on interaction, synergy and utility. The boundaries of 'diversity as an opportunity' are also explored. Vielfalt als Chance - das ist das Thema dieses Heftes, dem sich Forschende aus allen Fakultaten der Universitat Siegen vor dem Hintergrund ihrer Forschungen widmen.Die moglichen Perspektiven auf Vielfalt und die Diskussionen um Prozesse der Ausdifferenzierung werden aus unterschiedlichen Disziplinen - Philosophie, Geschichtswissenschaft, Erziehungswissenschaft, Informatik, Sozialwissenschaft, Naturwissenschaften, Politikwissenschaft, Rechtswissenschaft, Sprachwissenschaft, Medienwissenschaft, Ingenieurwissenschaft, Kunst- und Musikwissenschaft, Wirtschaftswissenschaft etc. - und im Kontext vielfaltiger Fragestellungen aufgezeigt: Inhaltlich wird der Diskurs zur Vielfalt auf Zusammenspiel, Synergie und Nutzen gelenkt. Aber auch die Grenzen von Vielfalt als Chance werden ausgelotet.
