A bored housewife becomes hopelessly sucked in to the sexual revolution in director Anna Biller's hyper-saturated, retro-minded tale of excess and debauchery. Barbi is married to Ken, yet despite her husband's picture-perfect looks he's far from the ideal mate. Left to her own devices after being abandoned by her mate, Barbi subsequently discards her bra and follows her feminist girlfriend on a surreal trek through the changing American landscape. As the pair make their way ever deeper into the city, Barbi discovers that hippies, drugs, orgies, nudist camps, and sadism are just par for the course in an era where inhibitions are shed and overindulgence is the order of the day.
