The story in this book is in part a biography, a part a non-fiction novel. It does cover a large portion of the author's life, from 1980 to 2014. There are many descriptions of an emigrant's first steps in a new and unknown country. Her attempts to adapt to the new environment, going through happy as well as unfortunate and sometimes traumatic life's events prompted her to begin writing journals. Step-by-step, she is sharing with the readers not only her own and very personal information relative to her life but also provides many interesting and surprisingly simple solutions to resolve variety of issues which most of us face. Additioanlly, the book gives several valuable lessons learned, observations and conclusions she made mostly by her own experiences. The book also contains descriptions of important events in the history of the U.S.A. as well as abroad. According to her, this book is "...a compilation of the most important, happy, sad and at times understandably strange circumstances and situations that I had to encounter on my own or with others."
