Give me new eyes that do not grow tired, A new tongue that will not deceive, New hands that will do no wrong whatsoever, A new mind that doesn't need to believe; For I am destitute in a land of longsuffering. I use blood in my pen for ink, If only I could find some peace in my religion, I may find a moment where I don't have to think. Give me a new wall that's made for climbing; A new climb whose end won't shut me in; A new closure where all things begin anew; A new beginning that won't let me sin. For I am hurting in a land without forgiveness. I cry tears from sweltering pain. If your time only allowed my roots to reveal themselves, Your fears would confirm who is to blame. Give me some sign that says you understand; Some nod that says it's okay; A glare or a stroke to correct our past; A silence that says you won't go away. For I am sane in a land of insanity. I think organized chaos is mud-muddled, filtered rain. If I could stop using tears to drink my water, I may have room to rest and dream. If ever I've found enough grace for you to hear me, Won't you please stay to finish this song, And we can write a verse in tribute of your Love, Instead of me singing this alone. ESCAPISM is Broken!
