When I Was Four
tells the true story of Zetta Marie, who is deaf, and a chef, a deaf chef!
When Zetta was four she opened a can of frozen grape juice concentrate and added three cans of water. She was hooked! She also watched her mama cooking in the kitchen and was inspired to start writing her own recipes, secretly slipping them into her mama's recipe book. While spending time baking pies with her Grammie and playing with the dough, she started pretending she was a chef, owned a restaurant and had bake sales. The dreams of her future began.
Filled with cute and colorful illustrations, follow Zetta on her discovery of her love for baking and making her dreams come true.
Today Zetta is a professional pastry chef and has a degree in Culinary Art, Professional Baking and Pastry and Hospitality Management. She wants all children to know that your disability shouldn't stop you from daydreaming about your future and if you stay focused you can be and do anything, just like she did!
