As originally conceived, designed and shot for IMAX theaters, this ecological chronicle travels into the aquatic realm and depicts it as the stage of a nonstop struggle for survival of the fittest, among thousands of species of marine life - both against one another and against homo-sapiens, the most aggressive of all predators. The program assesses the economic and cultural legacy of the world's seas, and pays homage to the attempts of many conservationists to save its precious resources. Co-directors Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell shot the footage off the coast of South Africa, lending it a not-so-subtle aura of exotic visual splendor.
