The multi-chapter serial Wolves of Kultur was typical of the propagandistic nonsense perpetrated on the American public during WWI. Having suffered all sorts of indignities at the hands of the German villains, heroine Alice Grayson (Leah Baird) continues to emerge victorious, none the worse for wear. In Episode Four, Alice is bound, gagged, and tossed in a cellar, but within minutes she has loosened her bonds and orchestrated her escape. But will she be able to wriggle out of the peril awaiting her at the end of the chapter, as her car plummets over a steep cliff? Wolves of Kultur presently exists in a seven-chapter condensed version, one of the few surviving films of Leah Baird's popular serial-hero costar Charles Hutchison.
