A Life time of Poetry. Lewis W Ayers II was born in Indianapolis Indiana June of 1953. This is a 30 year collection of his poetry. Here's an example:
The call of the Strom
Oh Mother! the stories I could tell, of the things that I've seen.
And the wonderful places I've been, But the lull of the song of the lullaby thrush, keeps calling me back to my pen, So I write and I sing, and I laugh and I cry, as the fury of the storm breaks free,
And the maddening roar of the thunder abounds, with the sounds of the crash of the sea, And I with my paper and pen in my room, with it's window that looks to the sky, will dream of things that I've heard in the wind, as I sit in my fortress on high, For the storm keeps calling my spirit away, to the Isles that are misted by time, saying break from your pen, and fly on the wind, and cease from writing this rhyme, And my spirit longs to merge, with the songs, of the gulls, that fly near the sea, to run with the wind, to the places it's been, to ride on the storm and be free,
And I almost give way, to the hypnotic sway, of the melodious song of the wind, But the lull of the song, of the lullaby thrush, keeps calling me back to my pen...
