This animated fantasy finds The Beatles on board the Yellow Submarine as they travels by water and air. With their faithful captain at the helm, they battle the Blue Meanies, who battle for a world without music and fun. Our heros travel to Pepperland where the power of love helps to defeat their animated adversaries. Eighteen songs are featured in this delightful animated musical. The Fab Four appear in a cameo reprisal at the end of the film. Musical director George Martin provides six of the background tunes while the others are Lennon/McCartney or George Harrison songs. The film was immensely popular with Beatle's fans and successful at the box office, just what was expected with a project with the most popular musical group the world has ever known.
